Just because you are young and black doesn’t automatically mean that you know all there is to know about the history of African and Caribbean music or the legacy it has left to the music world so far…
This project, based in Liverpool, involves twenty talented people who already make or play music, aged between 13-18 from the BME community. The group members will take part in various workshops, studying the history and effect African and Caribbean music has had on contemporary music, leading to the creation of a creative and musical showcases, held in Liverpool on 8th and 27th November 2009. There will be workshops for the general public,culminating in a performance of the works that have been created featuring headline artist and Dancehall legend, Yellowman.
